Do your self a favor and buy Hornady gas checks. I have been a long time user of Lyman products, so when I needed gas checks for my NEW Lyman mold .44 cast 255 grain bullets, of course I bought Lyman. The Lyman gas checks are too large for the base of the Lyman bullets designed for a gas check. The gas checks fall right off, even after putting the bullets through the sizing/lubrication process. I even tried super glue to keep the gas checks in place on the bullets. That worked for about half of the bullets.
I had a couple hundred Hornady .44 gas checks still in stock. They have a raised, cupped-base, and crimp onto the bullets during the sizing/lubrication process. The Lyman gas checks, on the other hand, have a very flat base, and do not crimp onto the bullet.
What a giant PITA these Lyman gas checks have been, not to mention that the price is absolutely outrageous!!
