My daughter has now played one season of volleyball and has fallen in love with it. Practice time at home was a little difficult without a net for her to judge whether or not she was getting the ball up high enough. Not wanting to spend hundreds of dollars on a net, I probably looked at every net available here, as well as eBay, Craig's List, and several sporting goods web sites. The key factors for me was that I needed a net for grass that was adjustable in height which didn't cost more than about $60. I was apprehensive about purchasing this set because I was afraid it would be too cheaply constructed. And it is. But, for $45 it does what I need:It fits in our small grass front yard with a little room to spare.
The volleyball is a bit hard, but playable for recreation (anything more and you should get a better ball such as a Molten).
The badminton equipment is pretty terrible, but still good enough for recreation.
The racquets feel cheap and the birdies were so smashed into the packaging that they do not have the correct shape any longer.
The real star of the show to me was the net. That was really what I wanted. And, for $45 I am not disappointed. Setup is easy enough for me to do it by myself, but with two people it works better. It is telescoping so that it is just at the right height for my seven year old, but can be adjusted for adult play as well. It can be difficult to get the top of the net taught enough to make it straight (it seems that part of it always droops down), but for recreation it really is just fine. The quality of the net us such that it should last for years. The entire package comes in a decent bag that makes it easy enough to store away in the garage or take along to the park.
