UTG 2-in-1 Tactical LED Flashlight with Red Laser Review

This item, like most of the items from UTG/Leapers, is too fragile for a real firearm, despite the "tactical" label. Notice that most positive reviewers do not mention actually shooting their weapon with this attached. They are just drooling over the sexy flashlight and laser. Those who've actually fired their weapons are the low raters. This thing only has one small screw to hold the laser to its mount and another to hold single screw to hold the flashlight to its mount. Everything truly tactical out there has at least two beefy screws for each purpose. This thing broke in two different ways before I finished my third magazine on the first day of shooting--the laser fell off because of a stripped screw and the flashlight broke internally. I returned the pieces to UTG in August 2011 and they acknowledged it broke when it shouldn't have, but refused to refund my money. It's now been nine months and they have been happily sitting on both the broken item and my money. Well, I will keep updating this review to document their poor quality product and lack of responsibility in dealing with customers. Details: I paid $67.99 for this LT-ELP38 light/laser combo on Amazon.com. I stripped the laser screw trying to tighten it enough to stop the laser from shifting with each rifle recoil. The laser was thereby rendered a separate item and useless without a bracket. Then the flashlight failed, but not because of bulb or batteries. Turns out the flashlight barrel is amazingly not a single piece, but is split into a forward half and rear half with the seam hidden under the laser mount collar. When I checked the barrel itself for electrical continuity I found the front end was no longer in contact with the rear end. What I thought and rightfully expected to be a solid piece of aluminum was not and the two halves had become enough separated to break the circuit. Who would make the tube that holds the batteries of a "tactical flashlight" out of anything but a single solid piece of metal? This item is not suitable for mounting on bicycle handlebars let alone on a weapon. I only fired a few magazines before reducing both the laser and light on this Leapers/UTG item to inoperable junk. I would be ashamed to sell this item let alone label it as tactical. I returned the item to Leapers/UTG for "investigation." They confirmed the failure, however they have a "no refund" policy and will only give me credit toward another item. Nine months ago I was not interested in another Leapers/UTG product (guess why), and I am even less interested now. Factor their NO-REFUND POLICY and poor quality into your buying decision. This Chinese company that wrote me in an email they are trying to "distinguish ourselves to those fly-by-the-seat-of-pants type operations" owes me $67.99.
