for the record, you do NOT need any kind of fancy straps--or any hanging materials, when you buy this hammock. It comes with 2 ropes and carabiners, and that's ALL you need to hang this thing. Trust me. I found it hard to believe, too, but it's true. I'm 200 pounds and expected the hammock to fall right to the ground when i read the instructions on how to hang it, but I never have, despite spending weeks in it all-night.

So you DON'T need any gear to hang this thing.

Regarding the mosquito net, just flip the hammock over and there's no net.

I've found the hammock to be quite durable, though a bit bigger than I expected (about the size of a folded sweatshirt, if that helps--certainly not as little as a "football," "grapefruit," or any of the other dimensions offered by other manufacturers).

I'd definitely recommend it!
