Craft baselayers are purpose built. They're not made for fashion or the yuppie outdoor crowd. This is performance only. You don't pack these on when you are standing outside in a blizzard - you pack them on when you're attacking hills in the backcountry in a blizzard. The Zero Extreme is a bit hyperbole in name, but it does the job it advertises. The material is comfortable, incredibly thin and light and it hugs like skin. I've always stayed warm and mine wicks away perspiration without fail though it's not equally as good with killing odor after 3+ hours of skiing. Then again, if you're on a bike flyer or really pushing it on a Nordic ski trek, that's the last thing on your mind.
