This men's athletic shoe boasts a quick-drying air mesh upper with a Dri-Lex collar lining and full-length, streamlined seaming construction lining to wick moisture and reduce chafing. The distinctive foot-shaped toe box gives toes more room to work properly; the Zero DropTM platform allows a more natural, efficient foot strike that helps reduce joint impact, shin splints and forefoot pain. A dual-density, 5mm cushioned footbed rides atop a 12mm, dual-layer cushioned midsole providing essential shock absorption and responsiveness. Built on a male-specific last, the Altra Instinct 1.5 runner is finished with a 4.5mm blown rubber outsole to provide a natural, all-purpose traction system for a variety of surfaces from road to treadmill to trails.

I love Altras. They are my favorite shoe of shoes because I love the wide toe box and zero drop. I have many many of the first model, the Altra Instinct. I love them. I ordered the new revision Instinct 1.5 and am very disappointed. Mine were much tighter in the toe box and mid foot. I felt very restricted. I visually could see the difference in the width. I re-read the Altra write ups on this newer 1.5 Instinct and did not find any info that said that they run narrower in the toe box. So if you are an Altra lover who already loves the Instinct, just be on notice that the 1.5 model may not be as comfortable as what you have and make sure that you can return them without too much shipping offset.... Just my .02 of course. I gave it a three star as an OK shoe but it is not for me. Still love you guys at Altra and am sure that you will continue to provides lots of excellent shoes down the road.
