This line is great in all respects except one. The ratchet. Unless you get your line perfectly threaded and tight (throughout your ratcheting procedure) it is likely to be frayed by the ratchet system. Solution: I took the ratchet completely apart. This is pretty easy to do by simply removing a pin on one side of the ratchet (pliers required). From there I used a metal file to de-burr all of the edges that catch on the line. I then further smoothed out the metal edges with 220 grit sandpaper. To keep the line from fraying further, I took a lighter to the damaged areas so they did not unravel. You also have to be mindful of how much force you exert laterally on the ratchet while tightening. I significantly twisted my ratchet handle because of the angle at which I was tightening the line. I was also able to bend it back, but if you've ever bent metal back and forth, you understand how it can become weakened. Just keep the ratchet flat as you are tightening and you should be good.

So... Great product, the company just needs to improve the quality of the ratchet a bit. Either that or you can spend three minutes and fix it yourself. I'll include pictures of the problem areas.
