Update 2013 - Still loving it. Several short trips/uses, and another week+ June trip to the Midwest with 2 liter ice bottles hanging in there. No leaks-no complaints.2012 - I just returned from a 2 week car camping trip with this cooler, and it tops any other marine cooler I've had. After the first 4 days, my original 1/2 gallon frozen water bottles (used milk jugs) were still mostly solid. And later in the trip when all I could get was chip ice, it still performed very well. I employed ice conservation practices, and the weather was mid 80's to low 90's. so YMMV.
I don't get the cutting board thing. In short, if you're thinking of buying this cooler for its cutting board, you are shopping in the wrong department. At first I thought it was not the correct part for the cooler because it fit in the slot provided very loosely. It most likely would not have a long life as a cutting board due to its construction. I suppose it works as a divider in the cooler, but I'm not sure what purpose that serves as ice melts.
I really like the spring that holds the lid open. You just give it a little tug in the middle to shut the lid. The tray is large enough to hold all the items I didn't want to float, and it has a fair amount space for horizontal adjustment.
I am very pleased over all, and think this cooler is worth it's cost.
