Web Master Harness, X-Small, Red Currant Review

I have been in search of an escape-proof harness for my German Shepherd mix. He has that narrow deep chest & skinny waist profile (think boxer, greyhound, whippet). He was dropped ON the street as a pup and was traumatized before being taken into rescue. He is terrified of trucks/buses to this day despite many efforts at desensitization. He will literally lay down and freeze. More than once he has backed out of a harness. There have been times I have walked him on TWO harnesses at once to ensure safety. THIS harness is IT. The two straps allow for customizing of the chest area and the waist. Plus you can adjust the neck portion and the chest strap. That makes 4 adjustment places (5 but I count each side of the neck as 1 because they are adjusted equally as a pair). The original adjustments take FOREVER, tweaking here, here, here, and here, but once set, well, YES! I am not sure I would want to dangle the dog from it (he's 52 pounds) but a little guy that might be OK. I would certainly be confident helping him over a fallen log or up onto a rock while hiking with the handle. This is a substantial harness, it is nicely padded, the dog seems rather comfortable, and we have already put to the test whether he can back out (HE CAN'T!). I am thrilled because finally, at age nearly TWO, I can walk this dog without ANY doubt whatsoever that he could pull out. It is not a no-pull harness, but working on leash manners solves that with a dog mentally. The dog does respond to some pressure on the breastplate when walking and chooses not to pull quite so much, but I wouldn't say this is a no-pull harness. This is about safety, durability, and comfort (no rubbing him raw). Measure carefully though. If you go to the company website there is a detailed sizing guide, if it is not listed on this entry. It appears to be quite accurate. This harness has high praises on forums, company websites where these are sold, and here. They are right. FINALLY, one wih two straps that will 100% prevent backing out. My former harness was the Dean and Tyler. I LOVE that harness, but the dog backs out of it. It's the two straps that sets this harness totally apar from the rest.
