I have one pair of these CEP Compression Sleeves and I also have a pair of their socks, both of which are a Men's size III.

Both work fantastically. I started running in a pair of minimal style Merrell Barefoot True Glove shoes on November 1st of 2011 because of knee and hip issues (common with the heel-striking crowd). My knees and hips haven't had any problems since switching up my running technique, but my calves were killing me after every run! After reading about compression socks on the Runners World website and some of the reviews on Amazon, I decided to get a pair of the socks after about 2 weeks of this. I will admit that I was a little skeptical, but it seemed to work for a lot of people.

The sizing was perfect, both the socks and sleeves were a little tight to get on but not a struggle. If they weren't tight, they wouldn't work. Removing them is the same, a little tight but not a struggle. Just make sure you're flexing your calves when you measure their circumference for sizing.

These things are totally fantastic, I can't remember the last time I had any post-run tightness or next-day tightness in my calves. I now wear them for every run and have been increasing my pace still without any post-run tightness or soreness. I could see wearing a pair of these all day if I had to.

As for what to buy, I would honestly recommend the sleeves for one reason. Both work perfectly, but the sleeves allow you to wear a thicker sock. The foot portion of the CEP Compression Socks are quite thin (about the same thickness as the rest of the sock/sleeve). If you prefer a more normal (not so thin) sock, you will like the sleeves better with a pair of ankle socks or no-show socks which don't interfere with the lower portion of the sleeves. The sleeves are also a little less expensive, get two pair of sleeves and you can wear one for exercise and one the rest of the day if you have to.
